WELCOME TO TOTEM ASSOCIATION!
TOTEM Association is comprised of Anchorage School District (ASD) employees who support the students, staff, administration, parents, and community. TOTEM promotes professional growth and continuing education for all members. Whether you are a member or a visitor, please take a moment to browse around and learn more about TOTEM Association. If you're a new hire with TOTEM, click the link below to watch a new hire orientation video to help answer your questions about the advantages to being a member of TOTEM.
The next TOTEM New Hire Orientations will be scheduled for the fall. In the meantime, you may click below to watch a recording of a prior orientation.
Alaska State Statute has changed and therefore, beginning in the Fall 2023, all instructional paraprofessionals will be required to meet the high standards of qualification under Alaska regulation 4 AAC 04.220.
Click here to review the new paraprofessional qualifications.
The Anchorage School District has decided to provide the Master Teacher, Inc. platform in order to assist you in meeting the new qualifications. This platform will provide the necessary online training to prepare you for the assessments.
Master Teacher is a yearlong license provided for you. It contains additional resources that can be used to further your professional development if you so choose.
Please note: This is NOT REQUIRED to be done over the summer, but we wanted to provide you with the access ahead of time.
*For Title I Para Training Tips, where you will learn how to enter the system and access training materials along with directions to sign up for the assessment, you will need to access this from your district email.*
Come join us, July 26th!
