Emergency Closure of Schools


If the Superintendent determines that an emergency closure of schools is necessary, TOTEM employees shall not be required to report to work. Employees who cannot report to work shall have the opportunity to utilize paid leave, unpaid leave, unutilized comp time or to make up the lost hours within two weeks of the time of the emergency closure, or at a later date by mutual consent of the employees and supervisor. Employees may come into work later in the day of the emergency closure if they feel it is safe to do so, but will only be paid for hours worked. Any hours which were not worked on the closure date may be made up as described above. For more information regarding emergency closures, see Section 620 in the TOTEM Agreement.
