TOTEM Scholarship Information


 

TOTEM Member and Member Dependent  Scholarship

TOTEM provides three different types of scholarships, two for members and one for member dependents as set forth in the TOTEM Member and Member Dependent Scholarship Guidelines.

PLEASE NOTE: As of January 5, 2009, there has been a change to the Scholarship Guidelines. Under Eligibility: Must not have previously been awarded and accepted a TOTEM scholarship that remained unused without notification to TOTEM of change in intent to use the scholarship.

TOTEM Member Scholarships

TOTEM Members can apply for only one of the following:

            a.)  Professional Growth Scholarships - $250.00 each to be used for classes and/or materials that promote job professionalism; twenty (20) of these are available for use between July 1, 2010, and June 30, 2011.

            b.)  Continuing Education Scholarships - $500.00 each to be applied only toward tuition and books; ten (10) of these are available for use between July 1, 2010, and June 30, 20111.

Applications must be in the TOTEM office by 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2010. Faxes are not acceptable. The drawing for the majority of the twenty $250 and the ten $500 member scholarships will be held during the TOTEM Spring Conference, March 9th.  You do not need to be present to win.

 TOTEM Dependent Scholarships

Five (5) member dependents will be selected by the scholarship committee to receive $1,000.00 each for tuition and books.  Applications are available in each high school career resource room, the TOTEM office or click below.  Applications must be in the TOTEM office by 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010. Faxes are not acceptable.

If you have won a scholarship & need reimbursement, please fill out a request for scholarship payment form, attach receipts and submit it to our office at 3310 Arctic Blvd, Suite 200. If you are unsure about whether your item is covered by the scholarship, please ask!

NAEOP Foundation Scholarships

TOTEM's affiliation with NAEOP provides the opportunity for its members to apply for continuing education scholarships & for dependents of members.

TOTEM MEMBERS can apply for the following:

Marion T. Wood Member Scholarship: This is awarded each year to office professionals who apply and are selected. There are two scholarships awarded each year in the amount of $1000 per scholarship. The applicant must be a member of NAEOP for three years prior to the awarding of this scholarship and pursuing a Professional Standards Program (PSP) Certificate or having attained the CEOE distinction, pursuing a college degree. Applications must filled out and postmarked by March 15, 2009.

TOTEM MEMBER DEPENDANTS can apply for the following:

Mona Smith Member Dependent Scholarship: A $1,000 scholarship. The member whose dependent is applying must be an active member of NAEOP for three years prior to the awarding of the scholarship. Applications must filled out and postmarked by March 15, 2009.
