Certified Administrative Professional-CAP

CAP

The CAP Certificate is well known in the business world as a mark of excellence that will be recognized no matter where the person works.  It shows an employer that an employee will go the extra mile and is someone interested in keeping up with the new technology and current office practices.  Many colleges and universities also offer course credit for passing the CAP exam.

The CAP test is administered twice a year, the first Saturday in May and in November.  It is administered in various locations worldwide.  IAAP (International Association of Administrative Professionals) is an organization representing office professionals throughout the world.  The IAAP chapter in Anchorage is the Billikin Chapter.

The exam is administered in Anchorage on the UAA campus and is proctored by the professors from the Business Department.  There are three parts to the test: Finance and Business Law, Office Systems and Administration, and Management.  TOTEM Association has books for studying for the CPS which may be checked out through the TOTEM office.  Upon successful completion of the CAP exam, you will receive a 6% pay increase as negotiated in the TOTEM Collective Bargaining Agreement, Section 507.1.
